Caregiver
Homecare Aides provide services to individuals in their own homes and communities who need assistance caring for themselves due to old age, illness, disability, or other conditions. Personal care may include assistance with activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, respite care, and guidance on nutrition, cleanliness, and household activities.
Homecare Aides are responsible for ensuring that services are delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant agency policies and industry standards.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
- Reports to Supervisor
CAREGIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with activities of daily living and personal care, including:
- Bathing
- Shaving
- Ambulation
- Mouth care
- Dressing
- Exercise
- Hair care
- Feeding
- Toileting
- Nail care
- Positioning
- Medication reminders
- Skin care
- Transferring
- Vital signs and blood pressure monitoring
- Other responsibilities:
- Ensure the client’s safety and security by supervising the home environment
- Perform meal planning and preparation, as well as routine housekeeping (making/changing beds, dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, and laundry)
- Provide companionship, including social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, and encouragement of mentally stimulating activities
- Provide respite care for families in accordance with care plans
- Perform or assist with shopping and errands, including handling the client’s money in accordance with the care plan and under supervisor oversight
- Assist clients in following prescribed diet plans under the direction of a physician
- Escort clients to medical appointments, errands, and outings as specified in the care plan
- Assist with basic client transfers when appropriate and safe
- Assist clients with communication (writing, typing, or researching information)
- Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support
- Engage clients in activities (talking, games, reading, etc.)
- Help clients stay connected with family, friends, and the community
- Provide transportation to appointments and errands
- Accompany clients to social or recreational events
- Assist with planning visits and outings
- Participate in the care team by providing input and suggestions
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with policies and procedures
- Monitor supplies and resources
- Evaluate care effectiveness and make recommendations as needed
- Follow written care plans
- Carry out duties assigned by the supervisor
- Report unsafe conditions and changes in client condition or environment
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities and services provided
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings
- Maintain cooperative working relationships
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Gather and report relevant information
- Perform other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of personal care and home management skills
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal care services, including health determinants, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of client satisfaction
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries, including emergency first aid and CPR
- Knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of clerical procedures, such as maintaining records and completing forms
- Ability to competently assist clients with their activities of daily living
- Ability to be aware of other people’s reactions and understand why they react as they do
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships

CAREGIVER QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
- Certification in Personal Care
- Current Driver’s License
- Proper Vehicle Insurance Coverage
CAREGIVER TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Related experience may be required
- On-the-job training provided
- May require compatibility with clients’ social and cultural backgrounds
Team Leader
Position Summary
You will supervise, mentor, and schedule caregivers to ensure high-quality, in-home patient care. You will bridge the gap between management and field staff by conducting client introductions, providing on-the-spot training, ensuring compliance with care plans, and covering shifts as needed to maintain continuity of care. As our business grows in that demographic location, this role will transition into a supervisor position.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate home care services
- Coordinate hiring activities with HR
- Conduct new employee orientations and training
- Oversee and evaluate staff activities
- Conduct ongoing caregiver training
- Prepare weekly contact reports
- Perform caregiver duties as needed based on client needs and coverage
- Conduct marketing efforts to grow the local client base
- Submit accurate billing information to MCOs

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Clerk
Position Summary
You will supervise, mentor, and schedule caregivers to ensure high-quality, in-home patient care. You will bridge the gap between management and field staff by conducting client introductions, providing on-the-spot training, ensuring compliance with care plans, and covering shifts as needed to maintain continuity of care. As our business grows in that demographic location, this role will transition into a supervisor position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make all schedule changes and updates as necessary
- Answer incoming phone calls
- If there is a call-out, notify the Supervisor immediately
- Work toward maximizing completed visits
- Monitor the Call Dashboard according to agency policy and document each missed visit when an aide fails to call in or out
- Notify client and Supervisor of any changes in service in a timely manner
- Document all missed visits with appropriate reason codes
- Maintain all visits within the company homecare portal
- Communicate with aides regarding clock-in and clock-out requirements
- Report all incidents and changes in patient status to the Supervisor for proper documentation
- Escalate unresolved client complaints to the Supervisor
- Assist with all agency job functions as needed due to absence or agency overflow

- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to write and document appropriately

- Ability to utilize basic computer software integral to agency operations after initial training
